Scarlxrd

Scarlxrd was born Marius Listhrop, on June 19, 1994, in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England. He grew up with a younger sister named Claire.

As a child, he practiced kickboxing. He studied media production in college, before taking up music as a career path.

Growing up, he looked up to Eminem, Nelly, and Missy Elliot as his musical influences. He even stated later that he had started his own band because he was inspired by ‘Linkin’ Park’ and ‘Rage Against the Machine.’

Marius started his ‘YouTube’ channel, ‘TheMazziMaz,’ in April 2012. He was merely a teenager back then.

He created vlogs in his bedroom and uploaded them on his channel. His videos were mostly created for the purpose of comedy.

His first video was titled ‘Ask Maz.’ His ‘Epic Fries Challenge’ video is one of the most-viewed videos from his first channel.

He also collaborated with fellow “YouTubers” Jake Boys, Sam Pepper, and Casper Lee to promote his channel. He was known as the “super-smiley YouTuber” by his fans.

From 2013 to 2014, he went on a comedy–music tour around the world. He called it the ‘WDGAF Tour.’

In 2014, he decided to change his image and find a new career. He founded ‘Myth City,’ a nu metal/rap rock band and decided to perform as the band’s lead vocalist.

He invited his fans to join his band’s ‘YouTube’ channel and listen to their music, which was a mix of rap and hard metal. He describes his music as “trap metal.”

He was described as a “rap metal overlord” by British music website ‘NME.’ Although the band’s music received mixed reviews, Marius’s fans loved his vocal style.

His voice hit the right notes with his fans. ‘Myth City’ released their first EP on February 28, 2015.

Soon after joining the band, he changed his name from “Maz” to “Scarlxrd.” He is also known as “Young Scar.”
