Luciana Salazar

Luciana Salazar was born on November 7, 1980, in Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina, to Fernando and Liliana Salazar. She was raised in the neighborhood of Belgrano with her three sisters, Marisol, Mayte and Camila. Her aunt is renowned Argentine actress Evangelina Salazar, who married the popular Argentine singer and actor Palito Ortega. She is the cousin of Ortega's six children Emanuel, Julieta, Luis, Martín, Rosario and Sebastián. She has worked with her cousins in a number of Ortega productions.

She attended the all-girls private Catholic school Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia in Belgrano, Capital Federal, where she studied Performing Arts and Song. She also took singing and dancing classes as a child.

Luciana Salazar started her career at the tender age of three, appearing in a commercial video for Ford Taunus in 1983. According to her, she always knew that she would be in show business as she loved to act, pose and take pictures as a child. Despite the fact that she was born as a member of the famous Ortega clan, she initially decided to become a model, instead of pursuing acting or music like her cousins. In January 1993, she started participating in various ad campaigns as a model.

She continued her modeling work for about a decade before making her television debut on January 3, 2003 in the comedy show 'Poné a Francella'. In 2003, she also made an appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America. The same year, she began her stage career with the play 'Pajamas'. In the following years, she has appeared in a number of television shows in Argentina and Chile. She has also acted in over a dozen films and theatre productions.

She ventured into a music career in 2009 with the release of her album 'LuliPop' from Warner Music. After she featured on the Playboy TV erotic television series 'Luli in Love', she became an international sensation. She has been a participant on the dance shows 'Dancing for a Dream 2010' and 'Dancing 2015'. She worked in her cousin Sebastian Ortega's production 'A year to remember' in 2011.

Luciana Salazar, despite her acting and singing fame, gained notoriety for her willingness to expose and accentuate her physical features in many of her public appearances. The most noted incident happened in 2003 at the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America, when she decided to remove her upper garment to reveal the two small stickers with the MTV logo covering her modesty. The incident not only created a lot of controversy, but also caused a rift in the family as her aunt called her father to state her discomfort about the situation, which he did not take well. She continued such acts on the 'The VideoMatch Show' and went on to shoot a racy scene for 'Costumbres Argentinas' before appearing on Playboy TV.

She has been in a number of relationships over the years, starting with a fiery encounter with Mexican singer Luis Miguel in 2002. She later revealed that she had an intimate relationship with Chilean footballer Marcelo Salas in 2004, which is reportedly one of the reasons why she had been invited repeatedly to appear on Chilean television. She has also been linked to Leo Messi and Juan Martin del Potro during 2008-09. She started dating economist Martin Redrado in April 2010. In late 2016, rumors started to spread on media that the couple has separated. Another rumor stated that she was pregnant. However, she took to Twitter to refute both rumors.
