Jurgen Klinsmann was born on July 30, 1964, in Goppingen West Germany, to Siegfried Klinsmann and Martha Klinsmann. His father was a master baker, who went on to own his own bakery. Jurgen has three brothers.
He started playing football when he was still a child and at the age of eight he started playing for a non-professional club named TB Gingen; he turned out to be a prolific goal scorer for the club. At the age of 10, he moved to SC Geislingen.
When Jurgen was 14 years old the family moved to Stuttgart following his father’s decision to open his own bakery in the city. Jurgen signed a contract with Stuttgarter Kickers, a German association football club, at the age of 16. At the insistence of his parents, he finished his apprenticeship as a baker, in 1982
Jurgen Klinsmann started his professional career with Stuttgarter Kickers, in 1982. He became one of their vital players and by the end of 1983-1984 season, he had scored 19 goals for the club.
In 1984, he moved to VFB Stuttgart, which played in the German first division and in his very first season at the club, he scored 15 goals.
Jurgen Klinsmann became an extremely prolific goal scorer for VFB Stuttgart as he scored 16 league goals in the season ending in 1986 and followed it up with an identical tally the following year.
In 1987, he was selected for the German national team and a year later he represented the team at the Olympics and the European Championships.
After scoring 79 league goals for VFB Stuttgart in five years, Jurgen Klinsmann moved to Italian club Inter Milan, in 1989. During his three year stint at the club, he scored 34 goals and helped the team win the UEFA Cup in his second season. However, he did not renew his contract after losing his goal scoring form and instead moved to French club Monaco.
Jurgen Klinsmann was part of the German national team that won the 1990 World Cup. Klinsmann played a crucial role in the German win in the tournament.
