Joy Mangano

Joy Mangano was born on February 1, 1956 in East Meadow, New York, USA, to Terri and Rudy Mangano. She attended the Pace University and graduated from there in 1978 with a degree in business administration.

Talking about the inventor’s love life, she was married to Anthony Miranne from 1978 to 1989. The couple has three kids: Robert, Jackie, and Christie.

In 1990, Joy Mangano came out with her first invention, the Miracle Mop. This self-wringing plastic mop can be easily squeezed out without making the users’ hands wet. She eventually started her own company, Ingenious Designs, which she later sold off to USA Networks. By the year 2000, Mangano’s company was selling about $10 million worth of Miracle Mops every year.

Forever Fragrant – This is a line of house odor neutralizers that includes sticks, scent stands, wickless candles, finials, shoe shapers, and drawer liners.

Huggable Hangers – These are no-slip, velvet-flocked hangers whose slender profile conserves wardrobe space.

Performance Platforms – These are shoes with rubber platform heels that give the user extra height. The line initially started with sneakers, and has since extended to mules, Mary Janes, and sandals.

Clothes It All Luggage System – This is a wheeled luggage with several organizational features, such as a padded laptop compartment, a pocket for plane tickets, a toiletry organizer, and removable dividers. The products in this line range from smaller duffel bags and portable dressers to briefcases and pet carriers.

Shades Readers – This is a line of reading glasses sold in sets of three or more, meant to be placed around the home and office for easy access.
