Joanne Frost was born on 27 June 1971 in London, United Kingdom, to parents Michael Frost and Joa Frost. She has a brother named Matthew. She got married to Darrin Jackson, a location coordinator, in 2011. The couple has been living in California since 2014.
As of 2017, Jo Frost had worked as a nanny for around 27 years, starting from 1989 at the age of 18. She was employed in the USA as well as in the UK and one of her clients was John Lloyd, a famous television producer. Jo Frost joined Channel 4's reality show ‘Supernanny’ in 2004. This show was watched by over six million viewers in the very first year and thus, it became a huge success. After the UK version, the show was re-created in several other countries. After working for about seven years in the show, Frost quit ‘Supernanny’ and another woman, Deborah Tillman, was hired in place of her for the USA version.
After this, Frost appeared on ‘Jo Frost: Extreme Parental Guidance’, a show that aired in the United Kingdom in 2010. Three years later, the reality TV star did ‘Family S.O.S. with Jo Frost’. This 90-minute episode focused on issues such as addiction, abuse, blended families, marital problems, etc. Then in 2014, Frost hosted ITV’s ‘Family Matters’. A year later, Frost's production company named Nanny Jo Productions joined hands with Strix Television to create the show ‘Nanny on Tour’.
Jo Frost is also an author who has written six books on parenting and child care. These books include: ‘Supernanny: How to Get the Best from Your Children’, ‘Ask Supernanny: What Every Parent Wants to Know’, ‘Jo Frost's Confident Baby Care’, ‘Jo Frost's Toddler SOS’, ‘Jo Frost's Toddler Rules’ and ‘Jo Frost's Confident Toddler Care’.
Jo Frost is an advocate for the UN foundation’s ‘Shot@Life’, a movement that aims at reducing vaccine-preventable childhood diseases and deaths. Besides this, she works in support of people who suffer from life-threatening allergies; she is also the 2014 ambassador for FARE (full form: Food, Allergy, Research and Education). Frost is also an activist for kids dealing with abandonment and poverty.
