Joshua Samuel Fatu was born on August 22, 1985, in San Francisco, California. He is the younger of the identical twins and their stage name ‘Uso’ means ‘brother’ in Samoan language. He is the son of Talisua Fuavai-Fatu and the former intercontinental and tag team champion and ‘WWE Hall of Famer,’ Rikishi or Solofa Fatu. Jey comes from the famous ‘Anoa’I’ family and is related to other well-known wrestlers, such as Yokozuna, Umaga, The Rock, Roman Reign, The Tonga Kid, among others.

Jey studied at the ‘Escambia High School’ in Pensacola, Florida, and played competitive football. Later he joined the ‘University of West Alabama’ and played as a linebacker from 2003 to 2005.

Jey made his WWE debut in 2009 at the ‘Florida Championship Wrestling.’ In January 2010, ‘The Usos’ defeated ‘The Rotundo Brothers,’ but in the clash of the generational wrestlers in February 2010, they were defeated. Sarona Snuka joined them in March as their manager and on March 13 they defeated ‘The Fortunate Sons’ to win the ‘FCW Florida Tag Team Championship.’ They defended and retained their title, but on June 3, 2010, they lost the title to ‘Los Aviadores.’

On May 24 2010, Jey, along with his brother, made his debut on WWE TV episode of ‘RAW.’ Along with Tamina (Sarona Snuka), ‘The Usos’ took on the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions, ‘The Hart Dynasty.’ In another match on June 7, the Harts surged ahead. The Usos defeated the Harts for the first time on the July 12 episode of ‘RAW.’ But he lost his first singles match on the July 26 episode.

‘The Usos,’ together with Tamina, made their PPV (pay-per-view) debut on June 20, against the ‘Hart Dynasty’ in a ‘Fatal 4-Way’ match, which they lost. They failed to win the ‘Tag Team Championship’ that year.

Jey and his twin were drafted on April 26, 2011, to the ‘SmackDown’ brand as a part of the 2011 Supplement draft. The brothers started performing the traditional Samoan war dance, ‘Siva Tau,’ at the time of their entry to display their strength. In July 2011, they fought for the ‘WWE Tag Team Titles’ but were unsuccessful. During 2011-2012, they made appearances on NXT. They also wrestled at ‘WrestleMania XXVIII’ for the ‘WWE Tag Team Championship’ but could not make it.

In order to pay tribute to their Samoan culture, Jey and Jimmy began using face paint (on the episodes of RAW) from June 2013. ‘The Usos’ went on to win several matches, but were not successful at winning the ‘Championship.’ In an 11-on-3 Elimination Gauntlet, Jey Uso became the first wrestler to defeat ‘Roman Reigns’ in the WWE.

Jey and Jimmy have won the ‘FCW Florida Tag Team Championship. They have won the ‘WWE Tag Team Championship’ twice and the ‘WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship’ three times. ‘The Usos’ have also earned the ‘Slammy Award for the Tag Team of the Year’ twice in 2014 and 2015.
