Personal Life

Go Kyung-pyo was born on June 11, 1990, in Seoul, South Korea. He was in love with his anime shows, his manga collection, and his western comic books since his childhood. This collectively helped him in developing his artistic side. As a result, he started drawing and sketching in elementary school and claims that he does it even now. He has also retained his childhood comic-book collection and has reportedly spent thousands in purchasing new comic books.

Early Life & Childhood

His sense of humor and good looks made him popular in school, especially with girls. However, his shy nature around girls prevented him from dating too many girls. While in high school, he started doing theater and fell in love with acting and other performing arts. Once he graduated from ‘Konkuk University,’ he started pursuing a career in show business.

Early Life & Childhood

In 2010, his comic timing resonated with the makers of ‘Saturday Night Live South Korea,’ and Go made his debut with the show. He was initially hired to appear in a few episodes for the show but somehow stuck around due to the appreciation he received for his role. The makers extended his contract, and he was then all set to appear in the next two seasons of the show too.

He then ventured into films with low-budget productions. He made his film debut in 2011 with the film ‘Jungle Fish 2.’ The same year saw him appear in two more films, ‘Graduation Trip’ and ‘A Millionaire on the Run.’ His TV career too started to flourish as he appeared in the series ‘I Believe in Love’ and ‘Operation Proposal.’

His roles did not do justice to his immense talent, but considering the fact that it was just the beginning of his career, he was quite content with whatever he was being offered. However, the roles eventually got better as he progressed in his career. He soon got the chance to play a key role in the popular sitcom ‘Standby.’

Go performed brilliantly in ‘Flower Boys Next Door,’ which was another romantic comedy, and received a lot of appreciation from the audiences. The series became highly popular with the South Korean youth and so did ‘Naeil's Cantabile,’ a musical romance–drama which was adapted from a successful Japanese manga. ‘Naeil's Cantabile’ was not as successful on the critical front, but registered quite encouraging ratings from the audiences.

Go’s film career got a significant boost with a major role in one of the segments of the horror anthology ‘Horror Stories 2,’ a film which earned him a ‘Blue Dragon Film Award’ nomination. The noir thriller ‘Man on High Heels’ too became a mega success, not only at the box office but at major awards ceremonies too.
