Ella’s first screen appearance was in the role of Haley in the 2011 TV movie ‘Last Man Standing’. In the same year, she made her debut in a full-length feature film playing the role of Jamie in the football drama ‘Touchback’ starring Kurt Russel, Brian Presley, Melanie Lynskey and others. That experience proved to be crucial in Ella's career. "It was on that set that I decided that I wanted to be an actress for the rest of my life," she is reported to have said. "Once we wrapped, I couldn't wait to get back on set again." In 2012, she was seen in two episodes of Disney Channels ‘ANT Farm’ as also in the feature film ‘The Giant Mechanical Ma’ which got very favorable reviews. In the next year several appearances in TV serials and movies followed and then from 2014 onwards she has been a member of the regular cast of the TV serial ‘Henry Danger’. In the meantime, she co-starred with Vince Vaughn in the movie ‘Unfinished Business’ and in 2016 was seen in ‘The Boss’ co-starring with Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Bell and in the Gary Marshall movie ‘Mother’s Day’ which had several A-list stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts and Kate Hudson. Her next movie ‘The Glass Castle’ starring Brie Larson, Naomi Watts and others is now in the post-production stage and is slated to be released in 2017. She has a large fan base in social media with nearly 700,000 followers on Instagram and over 34,000 followers on Twitter.

In May 2016, Ella launched her own beauty care company selling a wide range of skin care products under the brand name Aiko by Ella Anderson. Her close friend and co-star Riele Downs has been promoting the brand through social media channels. Ella is a fun loving girl and a prankster during shoots. Once she fooled her co-star Shane Johnson with a foam donut and the much older star, much to the delight of Ella, exploded with expletives after biting into the fake. She keeps her room spotlessly clean by storing her toys in the basement.
