He served as the 32nd State Treasurer in the Arizona government. He was elected to this post on November 2, 2010, assumed office on January 3, 2010, but did not seek reelection in 2014. Instead he ran for the Governor’s post in this election. His term as Treasurer ended on January 5, 2015, on the same day that his gubernatorial inauguration ceremony took place.
