Corey Haim

Throughout his career, Corey Haim had been romantically involved with many women, some of them being Nicole Eggert, Victoria Beckham, Holly Fields, and Alyssa Milano. He never married nor had any children.

He suffered from drug abuse from an early age and struggled with the issue even well into adulthood. He passed away on 10th March 2010. Found in an unconscious state at his home, he was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead. Though his death was initially suspected to be due to drug overdose, later it was revealed that he had died of ill health.

Corey Ian Haim was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on 23rd December 1971. His parents were Judy and Bernie Haim. He also had an older sister Carol. His parents divorced when he was eleven. He later had a half-brother from his father’s second marriage, who was named Daniel.

Haim used to be shy as a child. His parents saw acting classes as a way of helping him overcome his shyness. He had a keen interest in sports as well.

Corey Haim started acting from the early age of ten. He played a supporting role in the Canadian children's TV show 'The Edison Twins'. It aired from 1982 to 1986. He made his film debut in 1984, with a supporting role in the American thriller 'Firstborn'. The film was directed by Michael Apted.

The following year, he played minor roles in the films 'Secret Admirer' and 'Murphy's Romance'. These roles helped him increase his popularity and gain the lead role in the American horror film 'Silver Bullet.' Directed by Dan Attias, the film was commercially successful.

In 1985, he also played a supporting role in the TV movie 'A Time to Live'. Haim's performance was appreciated and earned him his first 'Young Artist Award.' He next played the titular role in the teen film 'Lucas'. The film, though not a big commercial success, received positive reviews.

Corey Haim was then seen in the movies ‘License to Drive’ (1988), ‘Watchers’, (1988) and ‘Dream a Little’ (1989). Though his career suffered during the 1990s due to his drug problems, he still appeared in several movies, some of them being ‘The Double 0 Kid’ (1992), ‘National Lampoon’s Last Resort’ (1994), ‘Snowboard Academy’ (1996) and ‘Demolition University’ (1997).

Haim was next seen in the TV movies ‘Merlin: The Quest Begins’ (1998) and ‘Without Malice (2000). In 2002, he played a supporting role in ‘The Back Lot Murders’, after which he was not seen in any films till his role in the 2007 film ‘Universal Groove’. The same year, he starred in the reality show ‘The Two Coreys’, alongside actor Corey Feldman.

’Silver Bullet’ a 1985 horror film, was one of the early works of Corey Haim’s career. The film was based on a novel by Stephen King named ‘Cycle of the Werewolf’. It was directed by Dan Attias. With Haim in the lead role, the film also starred actors Gary Busey, Everett McGill, Megan Follows, Terry O'Quinn, Lawrence Tierney and Bill Smitrovich. The film was a mild success commercially, and earned mixed reviews.

‘License to Drive’ was another significant work of Corey Haim’s career. The film was directed by Greg Beeman. Starring Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Heather Graham, Carol Kane and Richard Masur, the film was a commercial success, grossing $22 million on a budget of $8 million. The story revolved around a teenager who falls in love while trying to get his driver’s license.

Haim played a supporting role in the 2002 horror film ‘The Back Lot Murders’. The film also starred Jaime Anstead, Priscilla Barnes and Charles Fleischer. Directed by David DeFalco, the film revolved around a music band whose members were being killed one after another. The film was met with mixed reviews from critics.
