She is said to have dated Hong Kong-American actor and singer Kevin Cheng who is presently associated with TVB network.
She was born See-Man Sheh on May 28, 1975, in Hong Kong, British Crown Colony. Her nickname is Ah Sheh. There is hardly any information available on her childhood, early education and family background.
She attended the International Hotel Management Institute Switzerland, and obtained a diploma in hotel management from there in 1994.
In 1997, Charmaine participated in ‘Miss Hong Kong Pageant’ organized by TVB. She emerged as the second runner-up with Virginia Yung as the winner of the crown and Vivian Lee as first runner-up.
Following the beauty pageant, she was signed under TVB and thus began her new journey in the world of acting and entertainment.
She made her acting debut with the 1998 TVB series ‘Time Off’. In her initial acting pursuits, she essayed starring roles in many TVB series, but received criticism for her acting. Such criticisms, however, could not bog her down and she kept working towards improving her acting.
She landed up with her big break in the TVB modern drama ‘Return of the Cuckoo’ that aired from July 10, 2000 to August 4, 2000. Her leading role of Chuk Kwan-Ho in the series fetched her Favorite On-screen Partners award (shared with Julian Cheung) and Top 10 Favorite Television Characters award at the TVB Anniversary Awards that year.
She made her big-screen debut with the December 7, 2000, released film ‘Perfect Match’, written and directed by Shu-Kai Chung.
