According to English musician, vlogger and writer Alex Day, he and Fletcher started dating from October 2013. Fletcher later declared their break-up through Twitter on March 14, 2014. She started dating YouTube star Pete Bucknall in 2016 but the two parted ways in early 2017.
She was born on October 22, 1992, in Harrow, London, England to Debbie and Bob Fletcher. Her father worked at Kodak and also performed in local bands, while her mother was a special-needs teacher.
Her older brother Tom is a singer songwriter, guitarist, YouTube vlogger and children's author best known as former member of the supergroup McBusted and founder, lead vocalist and guitarist of the English pop rock band ‘McFly’.
Fletcher started acting with television when she was just five years old featuring in a short Channel 4 ident. Thereafter she starred in a Honey Nut Cheerios commercial with Kelsey Grammer. She also featured in many short roles on television including as Jenny in the CITV aired British pre-school children's TV show ‘Dog and Duck’.
Her West End debut happened in 2001 at age seven playing Young Eponine in the sung-through musical ‘Les Misérables’ based on Victor Hugo’s novel bearing same title. The play was staged at ‘The Palace Theatre’, London.
In 2002, she became part of the original cast of the stage musical ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ playing Jemima Potts, the West End premiere of which happened on April 16 that year at the London Palladium.
The musical ‘Mary Poppins’ featured her as Jane Banks during 2004-05 at the Prince Edward Theatre in London. It became the only Disney musical that premiered in the United Kingdom.
In 2005 she played Weasel/Duck in stage adaptation of the children's novel by Kenneth Grahame titled ‘The Wind in the Willows’ that was produced at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre, London.
A talented singer Fletcher along with her brother Tom performed the official song of the 2012 Summer Olympics' mascots Mandeville and Wenlock titled ‘On a Rainbow’ that was written by Tom. On March 30, 2018, she released her first solo album ‘When The Curtain Falls’. She also produced singles ‘Running Through Rivers’ and ‘The Way We Were’.
Fletcher has over the years garnered decent presence in social media platforms. She created her YouTube channel ‘Carrie Hope Fletcher, earlier called ‘ItsWayPastMyBedTime’ on March 12, 2011. The channel where she posts music and vlogs has already amassed over 646 K subscribers and more than 111 million views. She has also accumulated over 540 K followers on her Twitter account ‘carrieHFletcher’ and over 470 K followers on her Instagram account ‘carriehopefletcher’.
She has also thrived as a writer. Her first book ‘All I Know Now: Wonderings and Reflections on Growing Up Gracefully’ where she focussed on different stages of her teenage life emerged as a number one Sunday Times bestseller following its release in April 2015 and held position in the top ten list for 7 weeks.
On July 14, 2016, she published her first novel ‘On The Other Side’. This was followed by her second novel ‘All That She Can See’ published on July 13, 2017. In October 2017 she announced that she will release her third novel ‘When the Curtain Falls’ on July 12, 2018.
