Brian Quinn (Q) is an American comedian
Brian Quinn born at
Apart from his professional past, not much is known about Brian’s personal life. During the filming of Impractical Jokers, Brian suffered from serious bouts of encephalitis and meningitis, which forced him to miss a lot of episodes. Out of the four of his groups, he has filmed the least number of episodes in Impractical Jokers.
He has also landed himself in a few altercations. When he was in Germany for some shows, he got arrested by the authorities for disorderly conduct. He entered into an altercation with the police and was punched in the face by a German police officer knocking his teeth out. He was thrown in jail but was later bailed out by his teammates.
Brian met his troupe mates while in high school, during freshman year. They found out that they have this common interest for drama and decided to form a group cultivating their improve skills. They wanted to name the group with a word that was silly and that made people uncomfortable. They settled on the word Tenderloins and named the group so.
The four high school mates drifted apart after graduation, each deciding to do their own thing. Brian attended Brooklyn College and after that joined the Fire Department, New York, as a Firefighter. He worked at the Ladder Company 86/Engine 166 for seven years. He still occasionally returns to meet with his FDNY colleagues.
Brian and his troupe mates reunited once again in late 1990s and decided to take their talents in improve to the mainstream. The ‘Tenderloins’ started meeting at Joe Gattos place to hone their skills several times each week and after six months, they began their live show journey in 1999. They performed improve and sketch comedy continuously for a few years around the country in various cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami.
Brian and his three best friends graduated to filmed comedy sketches in 2006, making short comedy videos and uploading them to platforms like YouTube and Myspace. Their videos received huge viewership catapulting Brian, Joe, Murr and Sal into worldwide celebrities.
The Tenderloins even participated in comedy competitions in television and won ‘It’s Your Show’, hosted by NBC, bagging the grand prize of 100,000 USD.
Brian Quinn is extremely funny in a weird, slightly unhinged sort of a way. The trait in his comedy is apparent from the various episodes of ‘Impractical Jokers’ where his tasks and punishments were probably the most funny of all.
He is also very attached to his past. He regularly keeps in touch with his former colleagues and in the past has donated a big chunk of his earnings (about 50,000 USDs) to his former fire house. Being true to his roots is something that sets Brian apart from a host of other celebrities.
