Family Day is a public holiday in Ontario, meaning many businesses are closed.
Government offices, community centers, libraries, banks and schools will be closed. But Canada Post delivers on Family Day.
Here’s a list of what’s open and closed on Family Day.
retailers
With a few exceptions, most grocery stores remain closed. Like all Mondays, the Sankt-Lorenz-Markt remains closed. Beer shops and LCBO locations will also be closed.
Some H-Mart and T&T supermarkets across GTA will be open; Spend hours checking individual stores.
Rabba Fine Food locations will also be open.
Select Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall stores are open, some with reduced hours.

The Ontario government is allowing families to go fishing February 18-20 without having to purchase a license or carry an Outdoors Card. Check the website linked here for fishing events throughout the province.
The Art Gallery of Ontario will be open and hosting family day events over the weekend, including “Reading and Dancing for Kids with Valene Campbell” and screening of the documentary “Girls/Museum” by Shelly Silver. All are included in the general admission price of the museum.
The Royal Ontario Museum is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It will host a series of events themed ‘Ways We Can Reduce Our Impact on Urban Wildlife’.
Ripley’s Aquarium is extending its Family Day weekend hours and will be open from 9am to 11pm
The Toronto Zoo organizes a scavenger hunt that will continue through Family Day, as well as other family-friendly events and discounts.
The Ontario Science Center invites families to learn about the indigenous origins of lacrosse, visit exhibit halls, and watch larger-than-life movies.
The Toronto Pan Am Sports Center hosts its annual free Family Fun Day. Activities include floorball, bouncy castles, soccer and an obstacle course.
Let’s roll
During Family Day weekend, Blue Mountain offers visitors a series of events featuring live music, extended activity times and ice sculpting. Visit the company’s website to learn more.
The Horseshoe Resort invites people to light up this family day out with nightly snow tubing and live music from a local DJ, Andrew Hunt. The resort says it provides free glow sticks with every tubing pass from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m

On Monday, TTC will adopt its holiday timetable, which means all routes will operate on their Sunday timetables and begin operations at 6am
GO Transit operates on a Saturday schedule.

Drop-in swimming is available at select indoor pools across the city.
Check with your local pool in the city of Toronto to see if they participate. Opening times vary.
