Carlisle Racing Tips
1.15: Whitehaven 10/11
Finished third in his first novice hurdle attempt, but that was behind previous winners and with Matchless, who was a later placer in a Class 3 handicap.
Based on this form, Whitehaven should be an easy winner under champion jockey Brian Hughes and if improvement should be everything.
3.15: Enqarde 15/2
This is an interesting pursuit with a class 3 handicap with a 3m extension to cover.
Enqarde is usually involved in much higher level chases and obstacles, but has failed to shoot in his last three starts, prompting another windy operation this year.
His latest elicited immediate responses and he won’t be ruled out this time over a distance he can usually cover.
Placed second to Musical Slave last April on a mark of 135 and now making an interesting comeback on 128 while dropping in rating at a tantalizing price either way.
3:50 p.m.: Holmes St Georges 5/1
It could be an easy win for Up For Parol if claimant Will Featherstone taking 10lbs does the trick, but Holmes St Georges also has a 7lb claimant on board in Ben Bromley.
And he was a winner aboard Holmes St Georges two starts ago, beating Whiz Kid by 13 lengths, before taking a respectable second at a similar course at today’s distance.
But that was only his second handicap and with Bromley back and still unexposed he could put up a big challenge at 5/1.
Lingfield Racing Tips
2:30 p.m.: Lincoln Lyn 11/2
Only hunted four times and this mare put in a lot of effort in defeat, including two third place finishes.
Last behind Midnight Mary on soft ground, but she does just as well on good and good on soft if recent races are to be believed.
Should be pretty much and at this price in this kind of area should definitely be on the side of anything else.
3:35 p.m.: Gabriel’s Getaway 6/4
A short but excellent prize for the six-year-old Anthony Honeyball.
Won well in his hunting debut and could still come back here despite the 11-pound rise.
There’s also a mix of exposed and unexposed types in this chase, with ten-year-old Dindin being a slight threat with 45 chases to his name and five wins, but none over this distance.
Meanwhile, Hector Jaguen is a whopping 5/1 given his third-place finish on his hunting debut, but money will be the big factor heading into the start and Gabriel’s Getaway is easy to back.
