Trump's legal advisor discredits witness

Robert Costello, a former legal advisor to Michael Cohen, has accused Cohen of lying about former President Donald Trump’s knowledge of hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. Cohen is a crucial witness in the Manhattan grand jury investigation into Trump, which reportedly focuses on potential financial crimes. Costello appeared before the grand jury at the request of Trump’s attorneys, seeking to discredit Cohen’s credibility as a witness. He claimed that Cohen said things that are “directly contrary to what he said to us.” Cohen has previously admitted to paying Stormy Daniels $130,000 shortly before the 2016 election to keep quiet about her alleged affair with Trump. Costello also said that Cohen told him he negotiated the nondisclosure agreement for $130,000 with Stormy Daniels’ lawyer on his own. As the investigation picks up steam, Costello’s testimony seeks to raise doubts about Cohen’s credibility as a witness, which could potentially undermine the grand jury’s investigation.

Attorney Seeks to Discredit Michael Cohen in Trump Grand Jury Investigation

Robert Costello, a former legal advisor to Michael Cohen, who is a crucial witness in the ongoing Manhattan grand jury investigation into the former President Donald Trump, has accused Cohen of lying about whether Trump knew about hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. Costello claimed that Cohen has said things that are “directly contrary to what he said to us.”

Costello, who appeared before the grand jury at the request of Trump’s attorneys, sought to discredit Cohen as a liar on a “revenge tour.” According to Costello, Cohen was in a manic state during their first meeting in April 2018, shortly after federal agents raided Cohen’s home and office as part of a number of investigations. Cohen was allegedly pacing like a wild tiger in a cage and looked like he hadn’t slept in days. He repeatedly said, “I want you guys to know, I will do whatever the f— it takes. I will never spend one day in jail,” and stopped talking suddenly, pointing at them.

Cohen had previously admitted to paying Stormy Daniels, a porn star, $130,000 shortly before the 2016 election to keep quiet about her alleged affair with Trump. Trump has denied the affair and any knowledge of the payment.

Costello’s testimony seeks to raise doubts about Cohen’s credibility as a witness, which could potentially undermine the grand jury’s investigation. The investigation reportedly focuses on possible financial crimes, including tax and bank fraud, as well as allegations of hush money payments to women who claim to have had affairs with Trump.

Robert Costello Alleges Michael Cohen is Lying about Donald Trump’s Knowledge of Hush Money Payments

Robert Costello, a former legal advisor to Michael Cohen, has accused Cohen of lying about former President Donald Trump’s knowledge of hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. Cohen is a crucial witness in the Manhattan grand jury investigation into Trump, which reportedly focuses on potential financial crimes, including tax and bank fraud, as well as allegations of hush money payments to women who claim to have had affairs with Trump.

Costello appeared before the grand jury at the request of Trump’s attorneys, seeking to discredit Cohen’s credibility as a witness. He claimed that Cohen said things that are “directly contrary to what he said to us.” Costello described Cohen as being in a manic state during their first meeting in April 2018, shortly after federal agents raided Cohen’s home and office as part of a number of investigations.

Cohen had previously admitted to paying Stormy Daniels $130,000 shortly before the 2016 election to keep quiet about her alleged affair with Trump. Trump has denied the affair and any knowledge of the payment. Cohen alleges that Trump authorized the payment and that the Trump Organization reimbursed him for it.

Costello also said that Cohen told him he negotiated the nondisclosure agreement for $130,000 with Stormy Daniels’ lawyer on his own, using a home equity line of credit to pay for it. Costello said he gave five packets of materials containing hundreds of emails between Cohen and his law firm from 2018 and 2019 to the Manhattan district attorney and Trump’s lawyers. He urged the district attorney to provide all the documents to the grand jury, instead of a select few.

Cohen responded to Costello’s allegations, saying that “truth is truth and the documents in the possession of the DANY demonstrate this.” He also accused Costello of lacking veracity, noting that he works for Rudy Giuliani. Cohen served three years in jail, partly in home confinement, and has repeatedly met with investigators and testified before the grand jury about Trump’s alleged role in the payments, including potential campaign finance violations and falsification of business records.

As the investigation picks up steam, Costello’s testimony seeks to raise doubts about Cohen’s credibility as a witness, which could potentially undermine the grand jury’s investigation. However, the documents in the possession of the Manhattan district attorney reportedly demonstrate the truth about Trump’s knowledge of the hush money payments.
