A concert tour to celebrate Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 75th birthday will take place on March 23 at the River Run Center in Guelph.
Fresh from rave reviews from a British Columbia tour, Music of the Night celebrates Lloyd Webber’s legacy as one of the greatest theatrical composers of all time – and his works shine brightly in this production.
Be ready to hear some of the classics from Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sunset Blvd and more.
The cast consists of musical theater veterans and includes Canada’s own Melina Shein, who stunned audiences with her top-class phantom voice, and baritone-tenor Tainui Kuru, who has been a member of the Modern Māori Quartet and has appeared in productions such as Les Miserables, Cats, Grease, Guys and Dolls — and most recently starred on Saturday Night Fever’s National New Zealand tour.
Together, and under the creative direction of Alan Corbishley and Sound The Alarm: Music Theatre, Music of the Night – The Concert Tour, audiences will be reminded why Andrew Lloyd Webber is the musical phenomenon he is known for, states in a press release from the show.
