MCC Honors Exceptional Employees 1

Morgan Community College (MCC) has recognized outstanding employees who have demonstrated excellence in carrying out the college’s mission, vision, and guiding principles. The Faculty of the Year, George O’Clair, has been with MCC since 2009 and is known for his dedication to his students. Jane Fries was selected as the Administrative/Professional-Technical Employee of the Year, and Alyse Campbell was named Part-time Instructor of the Year. Additionally, Tammy England, a custodian in the Maintenance and Operations department, was named Classified Employee of the Year. These individuals will be honored at a state-wide community college employee celebration, where they will also receive National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Awards. Morgan Community College Recognizes Outstanding Employees

Morgan Community College (MCC) annually acknowledges its employees who have excelled in upholding the college’s values, principles, and mission. This year, three exceptional employees were selected for their exemplary contributions.

George O’Clair Named Faculty of the Year

George O’Clair, who has been with MCC since 2009, was named Faculty of the Year. He started as the Coordinator of the Cargill/MCC Workplace Education Program and is now the faculty for the Electromechanical Technology Program. O’Clair is a certified licensed electrician and holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management from Regis University. He advocates strongly for his students and works diligently to help them achieve their full potential. One nominator described him as “always having a positive attitude and making people feel valued and welcomed.”

Jane Fries Selected as Administrative/Professional-Technical Employee of the Year

Jane Fries has been with MCC since 2010 and was named the Administrative/Professional-Technical Employee of the Year. Fries serves as the Assistant to the President and is a member of the President’s leadership team. She manages the administrative aspects of the President’s Office and is known for her kind and helpful demeanor. Fries holds a Bachelor of Science in Resource Recreation Management and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, both from Oregon State University. “Jane exemplifies service and commitment to MCC by her professionalism, loyalty to the college, and by sharing her welcoming smile with all whom she encounters,” stated a nominator.

Alyse Campbell Named Part-time Instructor of the Year

Alyse Campbell, who joined MCC in 2021, was named Part-time Instructor of the Year. Campbell teaches History and is known for her leadership, creativity, and initiative both in and out of the classroom. She holds a Master of Arts with a major in History from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Arts with a major in History and Philosophy from Regis University. Campbell recently started teaching Women in U.S. History to help diversify MCC’s history courses. “Alyse is always willing to take on new classes,” stated a nominator.

Tammy England named Classified Employee of the Year at MCC

Tammy England, a custodian in the Maintenance and Operations department, has been named the Classified Employee of the Year at Morgan Community College (MCC). England has been with MCC since 2017 and her hard work behind the scenes is critical to the college’s operations. She is known for her friendly and caring demeanor, taking pride in her work. One nominator stated, “Tammy genuinely enjoys her work and those whom she works with. She deserves this recognition for her excellent care of the campus and all whom she encounters.”

MCC’s Employees of the Year will be celebrated at a state-wide community college employee “Commitment to Excellence” event with the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education in Littleton, Colorado, on April 11, 2023. Along with this, O’Clair, Fries, Campbell, and England will receive National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Awards and will have the opportunity to participate in the NISOD International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence in Austin, Texas, in May 2023.
