Here’s how to watch the launch of the SpaceX Crew-6 mission this week 1

Launching next weekend is an international crew of four astronauts who will travel to the International Space Station (ISS) for a stay of approximately seven months.

The Crew-6 mission includes a United Arab Emirates (UAE) astronaut who will become the second UAE astronaut to remain on the ISS after another UAE astronaut visited the space station for eight days in 2019.

The crew’s launch on a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft and Falcon 9 rocket will be live streamed by NASA, so below we have the details to watch.

What to expect from the launch

The launch will bring four astronauts to the ISS: NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Warren Hoburg, as well as UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev.

The SpaceX Crew Dragon will launch from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida and travel throughout Sunday before arriving at the ISS early Monday morning.

This is the sixth Crew mission to the ISS launched by SpaceX, following the Crew 5 launch last October, which carried NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada along with Japan space agency JAXA’s Koichi Wakata and Anna Kikina from Roscosmos to the ISS.

This is how you see the start

The launch, along with various pre-launch information sessions, will be broadcast live by NASA via the NASA TV channel. To watch the event, you can either use the video embedded at the top of this page or go to NASA TV’s YouTube page.

The launch itself is scheduled for very early in the morning of Sunday, February 26, but the broadcast will begin at 10:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. ET) on Saturday, February 27. Launch is scheduled for 2:07 p.m. ET Sunday (11:07 p.m. PT on Saturday).

If you wish to follow the spacecraft’s arrival at the ISS, this will also be live streamed. Coverage of the Dragon’s arrival at the ISS begins Monday, February 27 at 1 a.m. ET (10 a.m. PT on Sunday, February 26), with docking scheduled for 2:54 p.m. ET (just before midnight PT) followed by hatch opening and crew welcome ceremony.
