GD Energy Products improves capacity of remanufacturing programme

GD Energy Products (GDEP) has upgraded the production capacity of its remanufacturing programme for high-pressure pumps and related consumables in the upstream energy market. The move is intended to reduce operational costs and minimise environmental waste.

GDEP’s plunger remanufacturing service collects used plungers from the field and returns them in a like-new condition through a convenient and turnkey process. This recycling service offers customers an OEM quality finish at a significantly lower cost.

The company has invested heavily in upgrading its equipment and processes to improve the capacity of the remanufacturing programme. The service is available to customers in the field to encourage more sustainable operations.

According to Brett Walters, GDEP’s Director of Operations – Consumables, most brands of frac plungers are remanufactured by GDEP using a proprietary plunger coating process. This coating provides the plungers with a hard, durable surface that can withstand significant wear and tear.

The remanufacturing programme not only provides a lower-cost option for customers, but it also promotes a process of plunger recycling, which helps reduce waste to the environment. GDEP’s initiative to upgrade its remanufacturing programme is part of its commitment to environmental sustainability.
