New Relic Appoints Kris Day as Senior VP for APJ

New Relic, the observability platform for engineers, has named Kris Day as the new Senior Vice President for the Asia Pacific and Japan region (APJ). This move is aimed at leading the company’s business into the next stage of growth and expanding its presence in the APJ market. New Relic Chief Revenue Officer, Mark Dodds, said that Kris Day’s appointment comes at a time when organizations are exploring a much broader, full-lifecycle observability strategy and navigating the increased complexity of multi-cloud environments and modern application architectures.

Kris Day brings with him over 20 years of sales and leadership experience in the technology industry, covering hardware, software, cloud, and transformation specialty sales, and partner sales environments. Prior to his role at New Relic, Day was the Sales Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan at Dell EMC, where he led multiple teams to navigate complex customer cloud and digital transformation journeys. He has also held senior roles at NetApp and Hewlett-Packard.

As Senior Vice President for APJ, Kris Day will lead New Relic’s sales teams to grow the company’s footprint in the region and deliver go-to-market strategies while enhancing the partner ecosystem. He believes that New Relic is uniquely positioned to capitalize on emerging market trends given its all-in-one observability approach, which overcomes data disparity and other modern IT complexities by enabling developers and engineers to visualize, analyze, and troubleshoot an entire software stack in a single, connected platform.

The APJ market represents a significant growth opportunity for New Relic, with greater adoption potential in more mature markets like Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. The technology hubs of Southeast Asia and Korea also offer significant opportunities for growth, as does the rapidly expanding Indian market, which is home to a vast number of the world’s developers.

With Kris Day’s expertise, New Relic is well-positioned to expand its footprint in the APJ region and drive the business into its next stage of growth. The company’s all-in-one observability approach provides a comprehensive solution for developers and engineers, enabling them to address the challenges posed by modern IT complexities in a single, connected platform.

New Relic’s Observability Report and the Appointment of Kris Day

New Relic’s 2022 Observability Forecast report revealed that Asia Pacific organizations view observability as a key enabler for achieving core business goals more than any other region at 58%. Moreover, 33% of Asia Pacific organizations achieved full-stack observability by New Relic’s definition, compared to Europe and the Americas. Gartner’s Top Strategic Technology Trends for 2023 report also supports this regional trend and lists Applied Observability as the second most important trend for 2023.

New Relic recently introduced CodeStream code-level metrics and service-level telemetry, along with out-of-the-box GPT-4 monitoring, enhancing the company’s observability platform. Kris Day’s appointment as Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan is expected to accelerate New Relic’s growth in APJ and drive meaningful observability practices across the region. The move is aimed at leading the company’s business into the next stage of growth and expanding its presence in the APJ market.

New Relic’s observability platform enables organizations to achieve greater scale and efficiency, improve uptime and performance, and accelerate time to market to deliver excellent customer experiences. With Kris Day’s leadership and New Relic’s innovative product offerings, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on the APJ market’s growth potential and drive observability practices that help define future business decisions.
