Be Group and GSM Promote Green Transportation in Vietnam

Be Group and Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM), founded by the owner of Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast, have signed an investment and cooperation agreement to promote green vehicles in transportation services in Vietnam. The agreement will allow GSM to invest in Be Group and help them become a leading technology transportation service in Vietnam and a multi-service consumer platform. With the use of zero-emission electric cars and motorbikes, Be Group and its drivers will improve service quality and increase business efficiency. In addition, through financing partners, GSM will support Be Group’s drivers in switching from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles. The companies will collaborate to share a booking platform in the field of technology taxi services. This investment and cooperation agreement will make Be Group and GSM the pioneering Vietnamese enterprises to promote and drive the green revolution of transportation services, which is a growing trend in the region and around the world.

Green and Smart Mobility invests in Be Group to bring electric cars to Vietnam

Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM), founded by the owner of VinFast, a Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) maker, has signed an investment and cooperation agreement with Be Group, a Vietnamese technology company. The agreement aims to bring electric cars and motorbikes to transportation services in Vietnam for the first time.

GSM will invest directly in Be Group to help the company become a multi-service consumer platform and a leading technology transportation service in Vietnam. Through financing partners, GSM will support Be Group’s drivers to switch from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles, making it easier and more convenient for them.

Electric cars and motorbikes are known for their reasonable operating costs, zero noise, and emissions. These eco-friendly vehicles will help Be Group and its drivers improve service quality and increase business efficiency. In the first phase of the project, GSM will work with Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Bank (VPBank) to provide exclusive preferential policies for Be Group drivers to lease or buy VinFast electric cars and motorbikes at attractive prices.

In the field of technology taxi services, GSM and Be Group will collaborate to share a booking platform. Customers who book a car through the Be application will have the option to choose GSM’s electric taxi service, in addition to the existing beCar and beTaxi services.

This investment and cooperation agreement will make GSM and Be Group the pioneering Vietnamese enterprises to promote and drive the green revolution of transportation services, which is a growing trend in the region and around the world. Both companies are committed to promoting public awareness about the outstanding advantages of zero-emission transport and encouraging customers to switch to eco-friendly electric vehicles.

GSM will also provide support to Be Group’s drivers in switching from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles through financing partners.

Be Group is the owner of the multi-service consumer platform “be” and aims to become the number 1 consumer platform serving all the daily necessities of 20 million Vietnamese consumers. It currently provides many services, including transportation, delivery, food delivery, groceries shopping, insurance, telecommunications services, and digital banking Cake by VPBank, as well as continuing to develop and launch new products.

Since its launch in 2019, the Be app has been downloaded more than 20 million times, currently serving over 10 million monthly transactions on the platform, and is growing.

With a charter capital of 3,000 billion VND ($125.7 million), GSM will use VinFast electric vehicles and operate in the two sectors of vehicle rentals and electric taxi services with the investment scale of 10,000 cars and 100,000 motorbikes.
