Fujitsu Honored as Nadeshiko Brand

Fujitsu has been named a Nadeshiko Brand enterprise for its efforts to promote women’s success in the workplace during fiscal year 2022. Fujitsu focuses on equity as part of its Global Responsible Business (GRB) framework, which aims to fulfill social responsibilities on a global scale. The company has implemented various initiatives centered on recruitment activities, human resource development, and mindset reform, in addition to fixed-point monitoring of the ratio of women at the leadership level set in the KPI. Fujitsu offers workshops to encourage female employees to take on challenges in line with their career plans and has established a system in which an executive sponsor supports promotion activities through dialogues with female employees. In July 2020, Fujitsu announced Work Life Shift, an innovative working style that allows employees to balance their personal and work aspirations. The company’s purpose is “to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation,” and it has a strong commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Fujitsu has been chosen by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) as a Nadeshiko Brand enterprise for its efforts to promote women’s success in the workplace during fiscal year 2022. This prestigious award recognizes Fujitsu’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) and highlights the company’s role in building an inclusive and equitable culture.

The Nadeshiko Brand program was launched in 2012 by METI and the TSE to highlight listed companies that promote women’s empowerment as attractive stocks to investors. The program emphasizes the improvement of corporate value in the mid- and long-term and encourages companies to further promote women’s success in the workplace. The program also recognizes companies that have a strong connection between initiatives to encourage women’s success and management strategies as selection criteria.

METI and the TSE evaluated approximately 3,700 listed companies and selected 17 companies from 17 industries as Nadeshiko Brands for the fiscal year 2022. Fujitsu represents the first company to receive the award after the revamped selection criteria and evaluation process.
