A new report by TeamLease Digital, a tech staffing firm, has revealed that India currently has 45,000 job openings in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The report analyzed AI’s potential in various industries and identified data scientists and Machine Learning (ML) engineers as the most sought-after professionals.

AI job roles were identified in various industries, including healthcare, education, BFSI, manufacturing, and retail. Some of the key job roles include clinical data analyst, medical imaging specialist, edtech product manager, fraud analyst, industrial data scientist, and retail data analyst, among others.

The report noted that scalable ML applications are driving the demand for AI professionals proficient in scripting languages. The foremost skill required for a career in AI is building conventional ML models.

The report also highlighted the lucrative earning potential of data and ML engineers, who can earn up to Rs 14 lakh per annum, while data architects can get up to Rs 12 lakh. Experienced candidates with eight years of experience can earn even higher salaries ranging from Rs 25 to 45 lakh per annum.
