“The Patricia’s View: A Silent Thriller with a Big Impact”

she said is a quiet thriller that speaks volumes. In October 2017, New York Times Reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor brought one of the most important stories of a generation. One of Hollywood’s most powerful men, who made films that grossed millions at the box office and earned dozens of Oscar nominations and three best picture awards, Harvey Weinstein was a serial sex offender whose abuses were covered up by his studio with hush-money payments.
she said focuses on the process and prioritizes patient accretion of testimonials and endorsements. It does not place women in a spiral of violence from which they cannot escape, but gives them perspective through collective reflection.
The film describes a triumph of journalistic sympathy and precision. What will become of the real movement that sparked this reporting?
We will see. The film pulses with emotional and social depth, and in the face of it she said is a well-known story, it is remarkable that it can nevertheless be revealing and surprising.
In Moonrise Kingdom, Wes Anderson is on form with a charming tale about two unpopular kids who fall in love and run away. It instantly becomes more than a series of events, turning into a world with its own rules, where everything is driven by emotion and desire that is as compelling as it is magical.
Few things in life are more urgent and transcendent than a pre-teen romance, begun at a time before sexual desire has crystallized beyond a vague curiosity, and “love” is a term whose true meaning remains elusive. Sam (Jared Gilman) and Suzy (Kara Hayward) are cunning and willful. However, they have found a soulmate in each other, so they do what soulmates often do: run away together.
There is elegance and formal brilliance in the film, as well as plenty of gentle, endearing comedy. While many of writer/director Wes Anderson’s films come from the head; Moonrise Kingdom is one from the heart. Warm, whimsical and poignant, immaculately framed and beautifully acted Moonrise Kingdom presents Anderson at his best.
Many comparisons have been and are being made M3GAN (an acronym for Model 3 Generative Android) and Chucky child’s play. However, their motivations are different: Chucky’s boy Andy was just as much a victim of his doll as everyone else, while M3GAN is fiercely protective of their girl, nine-year-old Cady (Violet McGraw).
The film meets American girl meets American psycho vibe that emphasizes an automaton’s binary, soulless assessment of mankind’s follies while still finding time for memorable horror entertainment. Unapologetically silly and all the more entertaining, M3GAN is the rare horror comedy that gives the giggles as easily as chills.
The aim of the film is to be a cautionary tale about our obsession with technology in the 21st century through the eyes of a career woman who was driven into motherhood not by choice but by fate. Ultimately, this is a film that effortlessly entertains as a cheeky techno-horror-satire that vacillates between M3GAN’s vicious manipulation, the emotional fragility at stake, and exquisite killer-doll angst. It’s an entertaining horror-like game: knowing, amusing and not too scary.
