S&P/TSX Composite Slips as US Stocks See Mixed Results in Late Morning Trading

Canada’s main stock index fell slightly in late morning trading as losses in the technology and utilities sectors helped more than offset gains in energy stocks, while US stock markets were mixed.
The S&P/TSX composite index fell 4.23 points to 20,624.69.
In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 120.45 points to 33,770.57. The S&P 500 Index fell 3.96 points to 4,107.12, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 25.74 points to 11,913.19.

The Canadian dollar was trading at 74.41 US cents, compared to 74.39 US cents on Monday.
The March crude oil contract rose $2.10 to $76.21 a barrel and the March natural gas contract rose six cents to $2.52 a mmBTU.

The April gold contract rose $9.80 to $1,889.30 an ounce and the March copper contract fell less than a cent to $4.03 a pound.
