Popcaan’s “Great Is He” debuted on two Billboard album charts

Popcaan’s fifth studio album Great he is has debuted on two Billboard album charts.

Billboard announced on Tuesday (February 7) that the album opened at number 3 on the Reggae Albums Chart, a weekly list that ranks the most popular reggae albums in the United States based on sales and streaming.

It opened lower in the reggae charts than his previous four studio albums, FIXTAPE (2020), Defeat (2019), where we come from (2018) and Forever (2014), all of which debuted at #2.

Great he is also debuted at number 14 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart, which highlights sales from new and emerging music artists each week.

Posted via OVO Sound on January 27, 2023, Great he is sold 3,200 Total units in sales and streaming equivalent units in the United States in the first week, according to data provided DancehallMag from Billboard’s sales tracker Luminate. This included 300 Copies in album-only sales.

The album has been sold in total so far 13,900 Units over its lifetime, according to Luminate. This figure includes digital sales and streaming equivalent units of the five singles released before last week’s album drop.

The fourth single and lead track, We’re done with Drake, was released on January 6, 2023, while Great he isthe fifth single and title track, was released on January 20, 2023.

Great he is is Popcaan’s fifth entry on the weekly Billboard Reggae Albums chart since he began his music career in the late 2000s.

FIXTAPEhis fourth studio album under OVO Sound, reached #2 on the reggae chart and also cracked the Billboard 200 chart with a significant spot at #94 after grossing around 8,800 Total units streaming in first week of release in 2020.

Defeathis first project under OVO Sound in 2019, had also reached #2 on the Billboard reggae chart.

His second album Foreverreleased under the auspices of Dre Skull’s Mixpak Records, debuted at #171 on the Billboard 200 chart and also reached #2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart in 2018.

Shaggys Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection is at #2 on the charts while Sean Paul’s The Trinity And Dutty Classics Collection Albums are at number 4 and 5 respectively.
