SINGAPORE – Singapore’s biggest mass cycling event – the OCBC Cycle – will return to full scale for the first time since 2019 on May 6-7.

More than 7,000 cyclists are expected to take part in person, with two new riding categories being introduced on Tuesday (7 February) ahead of the event’s 15th anniversary.

Cycling enthusiasts can compete on stationary bikes at the first Indoor Ride by Shimano, which will take place at the Singapore Sports Hub’s Shimano Cycling World.

Those looking to challenge themselves with their own time and pace can also take part in the longest ever ride at the event – the new 500km Virtual Ride.

Competitors can also look forward to the return of The Straits Times 20km City Ride and The Sportive 40km Ride, where they can cycle on closed roads against a backdrop of Singapore’s iconic cityscape.

Families can enjoy the Mighty Savers Kids and Family Rides on May 6th, when young cyclists between the ages of 2 and 12 can experience the joys of cycling with family members. Meanwhile, more than 20 teams are expected to compete in the annual OCBC Cycle Speedway Championships on the same day.

Where to register for the event

Registrations opened Tuesday at orchardgateway, and OCBC Bank Group Chief Executive Officer Helen Wong said: “For the past 15 years, OCBC Cycle has provided cyclists and the community with a fun and healthy platform to connect. It has also become an integral part of Singapore’s esports development ecosystem.

“Cycling has seen unprecedented growth during the years of the pandemic. However, cycling on closed roads at scale is something only OCBC Cycle can provide.”

Interested parties can also register online at www.ocbccycle.com. Register by March 7th and win attractive prizes including a $4,555 Brompton bike.
