The FBI has carried out a raid at the house of Vice President Mike Pence as a part of an ongoing investigation into President Donald Trump’s management. Pence is the original high-profile executive reliable to be focused via the federal regulation enforcement company, following alike raids of Trump’s legal professional Rudy Giuliani and previous White Space prominent of group of workers Reince Priebus. The FBI is looking for classified documents at the home of former Vice President Mike Pence in Indiana, according to a source familiar with the matter as well as a Justice Department official. Both spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the matter.
The consensus search follows a discovery, relayed by Pence’s representatives to the National Archives and Records Administration last month, that documents bearing classified marks had been, they said, “inadvertently” boxed and found at the former vice president’s home in Indiana. The Justice Department then requested “direct possession” of the documents and retrieved them from Pence’s home.
This search is one of the latest in a series of recent months involving classified documents found in the belongings of former leaders.
President Biden is facing an investigation by a Justice Department special counsel into documents that date back to his tenure as vice president. Trump is being investigated by another special counsel over the mishandling of classified documents that led to an FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago last summer.
