West Vancouver Police Investigating Suspected Link Between Cabin Break-Ins and Local Suspect
West Vancouver police are searching for a man they say may be linked to more than a dozen cottage burglaries on Cypress Mountain over several months.
Among the 16 reported burglaries, a local resident spotted the unidentified man in a shack on July 10, 2022 and took a picture of him, according to police.

On November 28, 2022, police said the man was caught by security cameras at another cabin on Hollyburn Ridge.
“This is of concern to the community enjoying the cabins at Hollyburn Ridge” Const. said Nicole Braithwaite. “We want to make sure people feel safe going into and spending time in their cabins.”
According to police, two of the burglaries have occurred since the New Year.

Local residents have reported missing items such as non-perishable food and other household items.
“This is just of great concern to residents as they are unsure if this individual lives in the area. They (the suspect) could be huddled in one of the shacks that one of the owners might not be staying in, or they could just be pacing in and out of the area.”

The man is described as around 30 years old, weighing 150 pounds, with a slim build and brown hair. He wore a dark jacket and pants, a white trucker hat, and sturdy winter snow boots.
