My mother would often try to convince me to wear jeans by suggesting that I dress more like other kids my age. However, I wasn’t interested in conforming to social norms. I was content with being different and proud of my individuality.
Even though denim has become an iconic part of American fashion and culture, not everyone likes to wear jeans. It’s important to be true to yourself and wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. So if the jeans fit, wear them. But if they don’t, that’s okay too.
