Hombe Gowda High School’s science laboratory in Karnataka, India, recently received an unexpected upgrade from the Karnataka State Forest Development Corporation’s (KSFDC) corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The laboratory was previously in poor condition due to insufficient basic infrastructure, but thanks to efforts by the KSFDC and Bhagyavathi Amaresh, one of the directors of KSFDC and a former student of the school, the lab has been upgraded at an estimated cost of Rs 10,50,000. The KSFDC contributed Rs 8,50,000, and the remaining cost was borne by Amaresh. The upgraded lab will benefit more than 300 high school students and 350 students from the PU College. In addition, college students can also utilize the laboratory. The initiative by KSFDC and its directors to allocate funds for the development of government schools is commendable and will go a long way in improving the state of education in India.

Hombe Gowda High School, located in Karnataka, India, has been struggling with its science laboratory due to inadequate infrastructure for several years. However, the school recently received an unexpected upgrade, thanks to the Karnataka State Forest Development Corporation’s (KSFDC) corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

According to the school’s headmaster, more than 300 high school students and 350 students from the PU College will benefit from the upgraded science lab. Bhagyavathi Amaresh, one of the KSFDC’s directors and a former student of the school, submitted a proposal to upgrade the lab under the CSR initiative, and it was estimated to cost around Rs 10,50,000. The KSFDC contributed Rs 8,50,000, and the remaining cost was borne by Amaresh.

Amaresh appealed to all former students who could afford to donate money to come forward and do so for the betterment of the present students. KSFDC Managing Director Radha Devi also stated that the corporation has allocated around Rs 60 lakh for the development of government schools and advised all the directors to submit proposals for the same.

The KSFDC chairman, Tara Anuradha, mentioned that this initiative was possible because of the corporation’s first-time profit. She also added that the upgraded science lab is crucial for the students who have taken up science.

The science lab’s inauguration was attended by KSFDC Chairman Tara Anuradha, students, and faculty members. The school’s headmaster expressed his happiness with the innovative lab, stating that the school already had a laboratory, but it was in poor condition due to a lack of funds.

In conclusion, the upgraded science lab at Hombe Gowda High School is a positive development that will benefit hundreds of students. The initiative taken by the KSFDC and its directors to allocate funds for the development of government schools is commendable and will go a long way in improving the state of education in India.
