Draymond hilariously asks Ja if he’s still “doing well in the west,” which originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
In Ja Morant’s eyes, the Boston Celtics are still the team to beat in the NBA.
The Memphis Grizzlies star was asked in a December interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews which of the teams in the league he sees as the Grizzlies’ biggest threat this season. Morant famously said the Celtics while scaring off the Warriors and other Western Conference opponents.
“I’m fine out west,” Morant told Andrews.
Morant’s comments surfaced on Feb. 8 amid a bad losing streak for the Grizzlies and after a busy NBA trade period that saw several Western Conference teams tackling blockbuster moves like the Phoenix Suns trade for Kevin Durant and the Dallas Mavericks trade for Kyrie Irving improved .
Warriors star Draymond Green joined TBS’s NBA All-Star Game show as a sideline analyst, where he asked Morant during the game if he and the Grizzlies were still okay out west.
“(Teams) got better at the close, are you still doing ‘good out west’ and which teams are you looking at now and saying ‘this team to be reckoned with?’ Green asked Morant in the fourth quarter.
Morant will certainly be keeping an eye on the Suns but has doubled down on his previous comments.
“I definitely have to look at Phoenix with the addition now [Kevin Durant]’ Morant said to Green. “Obviously we can’t shy away from (the warriors), everyone knows you’re always in competition. Master.
“Still Boston, man. But yeah, I’m still fine in the West.”

You can at least give Morant credit for consistency.
