“Delta’s Artistic Talent on Display at Autism Auction: Local Artists Unite to Benefit Children with Autism”
An upcoming auction offers people the opportunity to own a locally produced piece of art while supporting children with autism.
Online bidding for the Reach Child and Youth Development Society’s third annual Art for Autism fundraiser begins online Sunday, February 12.
Members of the South Delta Artist’s Guild (SDAG), Delta Potters Association, South Delta Artisans and North Delta’s Watershed Artworks Society have donated original artworks in support of the fundraiser, with Linda Edwards, the Rod Winning and Reach events volunteer at the SDAG, plays a crucial role in securing auction items.
“Our event is only possible thanks to the talent and generosity of our local arts community,” Reach Events and Fundraising Coordinator Tamara Veitch said in a press release.

“It was such a pleasure receiving and cataloging the items for the online auction,” she said. “I am blown away by the outstanding caliber and heartfelt support shared with us. Our buyers are absolutely spoiled.”
Paintings, pottery, photographs, jewelry and sculpture, including works by renowned local artists John M. Horton and Gary Nay, are up for auction on artauctionforautism.com for two weeks ending at noon on February 27th.
According to a press release, people can browse, bid and “participate in this celebration of creativity and beauty, which will raise awareness for local artists while also helping to raise funds for children with special needs.”
