One person died and 10 others were injured early Sunday in a shooting at a nightclub in Memphis, Tennessee, police said.
No suspects had been arrested by Sunday afternoon.
Five people were taken to local hospitals in critical condition, the Memphis Police Department said. Five other less seriously injured people traveled to area hospitals in private vehicles and were released later on Sunday.
The victims were found in two locations, police said. Officers arrived at the Live Lounge nightclub before 1 a.m. and found two victims. While at the nightclub, they learned that victims had been shot nearby, where they found one person dead and three others seriously injured.
The motive is unclear and police say they are unsure if there was more than one shooter. Three people of interest were wanted, authorities said, and one of them may have been injured and need medical attention.
The shooting occurred in the Whitehaven neighborhood of Memphis, about 10 miles south of downtown and near Memphis International Airport. The gunfire erupted in an area near restaurants, grocery stores, churches and doctors’ offices surrounded by residential streets.
