Verstappen Surges to 2nd in Saudi GP

Verstappen managed to climb up from 15th to second place in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, finishing just 5.6 seconds behind his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez. The race marked Red Bull’s second one-two finish of the season. Meanwhile, McLaren struggled again and failed to score any points. Australian rookie Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris suffered early damage and finished in 15th and 17th place, respectively.

Sergio Perez Wins Saudi Arabian Grand Prix From Pole Position

Sergio Perez, driving for Red Bull, has won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix from pole position, with teammate Max Verstappen finishing second after starting from 15th on the grid. Verstappen managed to secure the fastest lap of the race, giving him an extra point and putting him one point ahead of Perez in the championship. This marks Red Bull’s second one-two finish of the season.

Perez, who had previously started on pole in the race last year, managed to maintain his lead throughout the race, despite a safety car intervention. He finished 5.355 seconds ahead of Verstappen, despite the latter’s impressive climb up the grid. This win marks Perez’s fifth career victory, placing him just one point behind Verstappen in the championship standings.

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso finished the race in third place, but a 10-second penalty saw him drop down to fourth, while Mercedes’ George Russell was promoted to the podium. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton finished in fifth place, with Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in sixth. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly of Alpine, and Kevin Magnussen of Haas rounded out the top ten.

In the constructors’ standings, Red Bull leads with 87 points, followed by Aston Martin and Mercedes, who are tied with 38 points each.

Alonso briefly led the race after overtaking Perez at the first corner, but his joy was short-lived as he received a five-second penalty for starting in the wrong position. After serving the penalty, he resumed racing but was later given a 10-second post-race penalty. However, the penalty was reversed following a stewards’ review of new evidence presented by the team.

Perez was thrilled with his win, particularly after missing out on victory in the race last year. “That safety car again tried to take the victory away from us in Jeddah but not this time,” he said.

Verstappen Goes From 15th to 2nd Place in Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Despite suffering a drive-shaft failure during qualifying, Max Verstappen managed to climb up the grid from 15th to finish the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in second place. By lap 12, Verstappen had overtaken Lewis Hamilton for eighth place, and after pushing George Russell for third, he eventually secured second place behind his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez. The gap between the two remained constant, with the Red Bulls dominating the race. McLaren struggled again and failed to score any points. Meanwhile, Australian rookie Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris suffered early damage and finished in 15th and 17th place, respectively.
