The Nittany Lions will face Michigan Tech, the third-seeded team, in the first game on March 24. The team has won 21 games, lost 15, and tied one this season. The Lehigh Valley campus and the Lehigh Valley alumni chapter are organizing a pre-game event at Bru Daddy’s in Allentown on March 24, where fans can pick up their shaker and enjoy a pep rally by the Penn State Hockey Band, Cheerleaders, and Lion.

Penn State Nittany Lions Earn Their Third NCAA Tournament Berth

The 11th-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions men’s ice hockey team has secured its third NCAA Tournament berth in the last seven seasons. The announcement came on Sunday evening at the Pegula Ice Arena. The team will play at the Allentown Regional, taking place at the PPL Center from March 24-26.

Penn State has earned an at-large bid for the tournament and is seeded No. 2 for the first time in the program’s history. The team had previously been the No. 3 seed in its previous two NCAA Tournament appearances. The Nittany Lions will play against Michigan Tech, the third-seeded team, for the first time in program history on Friday, March 24 at 5 p.m. The game will be aired on ESPNU.

The other semifinal match will be played between the top-seeded Michigan team and the fourth-seeded Colgate at 8:30 p.m. on ESPNU. The winners of the two semifinals will play in the championship game on Sunday at 6:30 p.m., which will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

Tickets for the Allentown Regional are available through the PPL Center, and fans can purchase all-session, Friday single-session, or Sunday single-session tickets on the PPL Center website. The Lehigh Valley campus and the Lehigh Valley alumni chapter are organizing a pre-game event at Bru Daddy’s in Allentown on Friday, March 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Penn State fans can pick up their shaker for the game and enjoy a pep rally by the Penn State Hockey Band, Cheerleaders, and Lion. Fans are encouraged to pre-register for the event due to limited space.

Penn State has won 21 games, lost 15, and tied one this season, marking the fifth time in the program’s 11-year history that the Nittany Lions have hit the 20-win mark and the first time since the 2019-20 season.
