Indiana’s men’s basketball team (23-11) advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after defeating Kent State 71-60 in the first round. The game took place at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York, on March 17, 2023, with 13,989 fans in attendance.

Trayce Jackson-Davis led the Hoosiers with an impressive performance, scoring 24 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and adding five assists. Race Thompson also contributed 20 points and nine rebounds. The duo’s dominant play helped Indiana secure a win over Kent State.

Indiana will now face No. 5 Miami in the second round at 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023. The game promises to be an exciting matchup as both teams are looking to advance to the Sweet 16.

During the game, there were several noteworthy plays captured by Jenn March, a photographer for the Times Union. The photos showed Indiana’s Jalen Hood-Schifino taking a shot defended by Kent State’s Chris Payton and VonCameron Davis blocking a pass by Trey Galloway. Indiana’s Miller Kopp was also pictured in a shot where Kent State’s Miryne Thomas tried to knock the ball from him.

The photos also captured the reactions of Indiana’s coaching staff and players during scoring plays and Kent State fans cheering during the game.

Indiana’s Malik Reneau, Jordan Geronimo, and Kent State’s Cli’Ron Hornbeak were also pictured trying to grab a rebound during the game.

The game was an impressive performance by Indiana and provided the team with a much-needed boost of confidence heading into the second round.

Indiana’s men’s basketball team (23-11) secured a spot in the second round of the NCAA Tournament after beating Kent State 71-60. The game was held at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York, and concluded at 12:43 a.m. on March 17, 2023. Indiana took a 35-27 lead at halftime and held on to it throughout most of the second half. Kent State only led once in the game, at 9-8.
