Florida State Women’s Golf team continued their phenomenal performance in the second round of the Florida State Match-Up, maintaining their lead with a total score of 4-under par, 15 strokes ahead of Augusta University. Lottie Woad retains her first-place position with an impressive score of 7-under, tied with Kentucky’s Jensen Castle. Kaylah Williams leads the field in the total number of pars, while Katherine Cook had an eventful second round, with an eagle and a tie for 12th place. The Seminoles lead the field in total number of pars, birdies, and par 4 scoring average. The final round of the tournament will commence on Sunday morning, where the team champion, individual champion, and Match-Up champion will be crowned.

Florida State Women’s Golf Continues Dominance in Florida State Match-Up

No. 12 Florida State Women’s Golf team maintained their impressive performance in the second round of the Florida State Match-Up by shooting 3-under par. The Seminoles remain the only team among the 12 participating teams to finish below par in the tournament. They have extended their lead to 15 strokes over Augusta University and maintained their top spot with a total score of 4-under par.

Lottie Woad retained her first-place position for the second consecutive day after a fantastic 3-under par 69 in the second round. Kentucky’s Jensen Castle joined her in the lead by shooting a field-low 5-under par 65, both at 7-under overall.

Woad had an outstanding front-nine, scoring three birdies with two being back-to-back on the seventh and eighth holes. Though she had a bogey on the tenth hole, she countered with an immediate birdie followed by another bogey on hole No. 12. The remaining six holes went smoothly, and she wrapped up the round with a birdie on her last hole, No. 18 – the 390-yard par 4 – finishing at 3-under.

Woad leads the field of 65 players in par-4 scoring, averaging 3.80 (-4), and birdies, with a total of ten for two rounds. She also leads her teammates in par 3 scoring (3.00, E) and par 5 scoring (4.63, -3).

Charlotte Heath played a consistent first nine, with only one bogey on the fifth hole, finishing at 1-over par. She had another remarkable back-nine, with three birdies and only one bogey, finishing 2-under on the back. She finished the day at even-par for the tournament, tied for third place.

Amelia Williamson started her second round strong, with two consecutive birdies in the opening holes, and a birdie on hole No. 4 to reach 3-under on the front-nine. She had a bogey on the eighth hole but birdied hole No. 11. With consecutive bogeys on holes 16 and 17, Williamson finished her back-nine at 1-over, resulting in a final score of 1-under par for the second round. She is tied for seventh place at 2-over par for the tournament.

Alice Hodge struggled early in the second round, going 3-over par in the first five holes. However, she fought back and finished the round at 2-over par. Hodge had two bogeys on her back-nine, followed by a birdie on the final hole of the day, finishing in a tie for ninth place at 2-over par. Overall, she is T9 at 3-over for the tournament with one more round remaining.

With such impressive performances from the Florida State Women’s Golf team, they are set to continue their dominance and potentially win the Florida State Match-Up.

Florida State Women’s Golf Team Continues to Lead in the Florida State Match-Up

Florida State Women’s Golf Team’s Kaylah Williams and Katherine Cook had an eventful second round at the Florida State Match-Up. Williams began with a bogey on her opening hole, but regained her momentum with a birdie on hole No. 8, finishing her round with seven pars to end with a 2-over par (74). With a total of 27 pars in two rounds, Williams leads the field in the total number of pars. She is tied for ninth place at 3-over for the tournament.

Despite starting with three bogeys in her first four holes, Cook bounced back in her next 14 holes, with only one bogey on the back-nine, accompanied by two birdies and an eagle. She was one of two players in the second round to score an eagle. Her even-par (72) finish for the day places her in a tie for 12th at the conclusion of round two.

Florida State continues to lead the field in the total number of pars (118), birdies (32), and par 4 scoring average (3.96, -4). The team, along with Oklahoma, remains in the lead of the match-up portion of the tournament.

In the final round, Katherine Cook and Madison Hewlett will tee off the Seminoles at 9:20 am ET off of hole No. 1. The final round will commence at 8:30 am ET on Sunday morning. After the final round, the team champion, individual champion, and Match-Up champion will be crowned.

Florida State Women’s Golf Team has performed outstandingly in the Florida State Match-Up, and it will be interesting to see if they continue their dominance and emerge as champions.
