Escape room enthusiasts can now enjoy three concept rooms at the Escape @ Science Centre in Singapore. This latest attraction is a collaboration between Science Centre Singapore, Gushcloud International, and How Drama, and promises to merge popular escape room concepts with STEM-themed puzzles.

The Escape @ Science Centre will offer visitors three concept rooms – Museum of Humankind, Shangri-La, and Dr. X – each challenging participants to complete puzzles and tasks that require critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a race against time.

In the Museum of Humankind, participants will experience an extra-terrestrial adventure as they try to escape from the evil clutches of Zarkians aliens. They will have to obtain the Zearth plant, believed to have the ability to restart life on Earth. To solve the puzzles, players can use their mobile phones to navigate through the room.

For those who prefer a more mythical adventure, the Shangri-La escape room offers an opportunity to escape from a metaverse by overcoming physical obstacles, earthquakes, and battle lasers. Participants will also learn more about technology and medicinal herbs.

Meanwhile, the Dr. X escape room will challenge players to save a friend from the diabolical Dr. X, who is a misguided and failed academic. This escape room is themed around psychology and a deeper understanding of human biology.

Melissa Sim, the co-artistic director of How Drama, said, “Science and the arts come together in these immersive worlds we have created for the players. We developed tactile environments and incorporated stimulating puzzles. You won’t see any boring combination locks in our rooms, we wove it all together through intricate story-telling.”

The Escape @ Science Centre will be open every Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 10.30pm. Tickets are available online from $25 per pax, with a 10 per cent discount when purchasing three or more tickets for the same room and a 20 per cent discount for six or more tickets.
