Get Twitter Verification with Blue!

Twitter is removing legacy blue ticks for verified accounts, which is seen as an effort to expand its paid subscription program, Twitter Blue. Individuals and organizations with legacy blue ticks have until April 1 to sign up for the paid program to retain their verification badges. The Twitter Blue subscription, which costs Rs 900 per month on iOS and Android devices, will allow users to access the coveted blue tick mark, which was previously reserved for notable personalities. Additionally, Twitter Blue offers several benefits, such as allowing users to tweet up to 4,000 characters, post longer videos, and compose longer Quote Tweets or replies. Users can also get prioritized ranking in conversations and see fewer ads. The move is seen as a part of Twitter’s efforts to expand its paid subscription program and offer more features to subscribers.

Twitter has announced that it will remove legacy blue ticks from April 1, which is seen as an attempt to expand its paid Twitter Blue subscription program. Individuals and organizations with legacy blue ticks on their Twitter profiles are urged to sign up for the flagship program to retain their verification badges. To subscribe to Twitter Blue, users will have to pay Rs 900 per month on iOS and Android devices, while it is priced at Rs 650 for the web. The subscription also comes with an annual plan, which offers up to a 12% discount. The coveted blue tick mark, which was earlier reserved for notable personalities, will be available to Twitter Blue subscribers. In the US, Twitter Blue is priced at $11 for iOS and Android and $8 for the web.

Twitter has shared links on its Twitter account for individuals and organizations to sign up for the paid program. The company stated in a tweet that, “On April 1st, we will begin winding down our legacy verified program and removing legacy verified checkmarks. To keep your blue checkmark on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue…”

It is worth noting that Twitter had introduced the blue tick verification program to distinguish authentic accounts from fake ones. The program is meant to ensure that users are confident they are following the right accounts. However, the social media platform has faced criticism over the years for the way it has handled the program.

As Twitter is set to remove the legacy blue ticks, users with these ticks have a limited time to retain their verification badges by signing up for Twitter Blue. The move is viewed as an attempt to expand the paid subscription program and offer more features to subscribers.

Twitter Blue, a paid subscription service, was introduced in 2022, shortly after Elon Musk became CEO of the company. Twitter verification was previously limited to accounts of public figures, politicians, journalists, and other notable individuals. However, with Musk in charge, anyone with a Twitter Blue subscription can now get a verification badge.

Twitter Blue offers several benefits, such as allowing users to tweet up to 4,000 characters, post longer videos, and compose longer Quote Tweets or replies. Additionally, subscribers can get prioritized ranking in conversations and see fewer ads.
