Google has updated the Pixel Adaptive Charging feature, which no longer requires users to set an alarm. This feature helps extend battery life by not charging to 100% until users wake up. Instead, the device holds at 80% and uses the morning alarm to determine when it’s time to unplug. To use this feature, it must be turned on, and the phone must be charged between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. with an active alarm set for 3-10 a.m. Google previously set the alarm window between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the beginning of 2020, but this was later changed to 3 a.m. – 10 a.m. to accommodate more sleep schedules. Users previously had to manually set the alarm, but the feature now works without it. In addition, Google is set to launch the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a smartphones, along with a new blue variant of the Pixel Buds A-Series, in June 2023, according to leaked retail listings reviewed by 9to5Google.
