Innovation Lab Inauguration in Bangladesh

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has inaugurated the Innovation Lab and Innovation Challenge Fund at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the event, he highlighted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s efforts to build a prosperous, knowledge-based, and inclusive country. The newly established neural network will play a crucial role in future policy-making, enabling the government to provide necessary insights during crises such as Covid-19 or the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The event was attended by Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, Information and Communication Technology Division Secretary Md Shamsul Arefin, UNDP Resident Representative Stephan Lillier, and senior officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Information and Communication Technology Division, and a2i. Bangladesh missions abroad participated virtually.

Momen emphasized that artificial intelligence, data-based analytics, and data visualization systems will play a crucial role in future policy-making, enabling the government to provide necessary insights during crises such as Covid-19 or the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The newly established neural network will support data-based analysis.

Momen underscored the pragmatic initiatives of the government, which have transformed Bangladesh into a vibrant economy with infinite potential. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched economic diplomacy-based activities to provide better services to Bangladeshis living abroad and increase remittance flow.

Foreign Secretary Masud bin Momen emphasized using advanced technology to provide better public services. He expressed optimism that the Innovation Lab would strengthen the ICT capabilities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and directly connect with the tech-capability of the future world.

The event was conducted by the Director General of International Trade, Investment, and Technology and ICT wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Syed Muntasir Mamun.
