Zoey Burger was born on September 13, 1999 in Miami, Florida. She has a younger brother named Robin Oliver who was born at 25 weeks into his mother’s pregnancy and at the time of his birth, weighed less than 2 lbs. Fortunately, he survived infancy and is currently pursuing his passion for dancing.
As a child, Zoey was very interested in swimming. She took part in competitive swimming for five years before the acting bug bit her. Her first performance was in a local theatre production of ‘The Velveteen Rabbit’, as the Wild Rabbit #1. She studied musical theatre at a high school for performing arts and was also trained under the booking coach Amy Lyndon. At present, she, alongside her family, resides in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she appears in various stage productions.
She has a boyfriend named Shai Cohen.
In 2012, Zoey Burger made her screen debut as Jules Benson in the short film ‘Wordplay’. Directed by Rondell Sheridan and based on a script written by Japheth Gordon and Adrien Theuer, the short also starred Aubrey K. Miller, Piper Madison, and Mateo Simon.
She then landed a role in Nickelodeon’s telenovela-formatted teen sitcom ‘Every Witch Way,’ which was created by Mariela Romero and Catharina Ledeboer. It also starred Paola Andino, Nick Merico, Paris Smith, Daniela Nieves, and Tyler Alvarez. Burger’s character, Gigi Rueda, is Diego Rueda’s (Tyler Alvarez) twin sister, who serves as a reporter for the school’s newspaper. She is often referred to as “Miss Information”. The series was the American version of the Nickelodeon Latin American series ‘Grachi.’
The show premiered on January 1, 2014, to mixed reviews. It received heavy criticism from the fans of the original show, ‘Grachi’, as Nickelodeon refused to allow anyone from the original cast of ‘Grachi’ to appear on ‘Every Witch Way’. While the show was not a failure, it never measured up to the international success garnered by ‘Grachi’. It was cancelled after four seasons and aired its final episode on July 30, 2015.
Besides the main show, Burger played Gigi in the 2014 telefilm ‘Every Witch Way: Spellbound’ and the television series ‘Talia in the Kitchen’. She appeared in an episode of the Emmy-nominated miniseries ‘Con’ and is set to portray a character named Liz in the upcoming short film ‘Runaway’.
