Yvonne McGuinness married Cillian Murphy in 2004 at her father’s vineyard in France.
They first met in 1996 in London and dated for over eight years before getting married. She is a mother of two boys, Malachy and Aran with Murphy.
Yvonne currently lives with her family in Dublin, Ireland. She chose to move back to Ireland from London to ensure that her boys grow up with their grandparents around.
Yvonne McGuinness was born on 12 October 1972 in Kilkenny, Ireland to Gay McGuinness and his wife. Gay McGuinness has interests in vineyard business and owns the famous Domaine de Notre Dame des Anges vineyard in France since 1990.
Her uncle, Jim McGuinness is a noted Irish politician affiliated to Fianna Fail Party and a Parliamentarian for County Carlow.
Yvonne holds a Master in Arts degree from Royal College of Arts, London. She was also a student at Crawford College, Cork for a brief period.
Yvonne is an active multimedia artist with specific interests in video installations and print art. She has also ventured into the film world and has since made three short films.
Her latest short film titled ‘The Well’ released in 2017 to rave reviews from all quarters.
In 2017, Yvonne received a contract from Draíocht, in collaboration with Fingal County Council Arts Office to commission a site-specific performance and film installation for the Amharc Fhine Gall 11th Edition. The Amharc Fhine Gall is a prestigious exhibition held annually to provide a stage for Fingal-based visual artists to display their work.
