On April 26, 2005, he married South Korean actress Han Ga-In in Sheraton Grand Walkerhill Hotel Jade Garden, Gwangjang-dong Seoul. Han was his co-star in ‘Yellow Handkerchief’.
The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on April 13, 2016.
Yeon Jung-hoon was born on November 6, 1978 in South Korea to Yeon Kyu-jin, a veteran actor.
He attended the non-profit, private college, the Art Center College of Design located in Pasadena, California and the Myongji University in South Korea.
He made his first feature on-screen with the SBS television series ‘Wave’ (1999). This was followed by a couple of other series before he landed up playing Yoon Tae-young in the 2003 TV series ‘Yellow Handkerchief’ that aired on KBS1. The series earned him Best New Actor award at the KBS Drama Awards that year.
He made his big-screen debut with the 2001 film ‘My Wife Is a Gangster’. He played Hyo-min in the film.
In 2003, he featured in two more TV series namely ‘A Problem at My Younger Brother's House’ that aired on SBS from October 27, 2003 to April 30, 2004; and ‘Rosemary’ that aired on KBS2 from October 29, 2003 to December 25 of that year.
He next essayed the role of Han Jin-woo in the South Korean TV series ‘Snow White: Taste Sweet Love’ that aired on KBS2 from March 15, 2004 to May 4, 2004. The same year he played Yeon Ha-neul in the MBC TV series ‘Love is All Around’ that was broadcast from June 12, 2004 to September 19, 2004.
He appeared in the starring role of Lee Gun-woo along with Kim Hee-sun and Kwon Sang-woo in the South Korean romance melodrama TV series ‘Sad Love Story’. It aired on MBC for 20 episodes. He also lent his voice to the soundtrack of the series.
