Yara Shahidi

Yara Shahidi was born as Yara Sayeh Shahidi on February 10, 2000 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, to parents Keri Salter Shahidi and Afshin Shahidi. She has two younger brothers Ehsan and Sayeed Shahidi, the latter of who is also an actor and model. She has a cousin named Nas who is a well-known rapper.

In June 2017, Shahidi announced that she will soon attend the Harvard University. Talking about the American actress’ love life, she is assumed to be single according to the media. It seems as if she is concentrating on her studies and career only as for now.

Yara Shahidi started her entertainment career at the age of six, appearing in advertisements for McDonald's, Target, GapKids, Ralph Lauren, Disney, The Children's Place and Guess Kids. She made her acting debut in 2007, appearing in an episode of ‘Entourage’. Two years later, she did the movie ‘Imagine That’. The same year, she got featured in the drama series ‘In the Motherhood’, ‘Cold Case’ and ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’.

Shahidi was then cast in the movies ‘Salt’ and ‘Unthinkable’ as well as in the dramas ‘Lie to Me’ and ‘$h! My Dad Says’ in 2010. A year later, she played the role of Montana in the television movie ‘Rip City’. In 2011, the actress appeared in an episode of ‘The Cape’. After this, she acted in the flick ‘Alex Cross’.

In 2012, she was cast in the role of Chloe Johnson in the drama series ‘The First Family’. The following year, she had a role in the series ‘Scandal’. Shahidi then began playing the role of Zoey Johnson in the drama ‘Black-ish’ in 2014. That year, she also appeared in the TV program ‘The Fosters’. In 2016, the actress portrayed the character of Darcy in the drama ‘Trollhunters’.
