Verne Jay Troyer was born on January 1, 1969 in Sturgis, Michigan, the USA to Susan and Reuben Troyer. His father worked as a repair technician while his mother was a factory worker. Troyer had two siblings, Deborah and Davon. He received his education from Centreville High School.
Coming to his love life, the actor married model Genevieve Gallen in 2004. However, their marriage was annulled the following day. In June 2008, a sex video of Troyer and his ex-live-in girlfriend, Ranae Shrider, was leaked. The American actor’s last romantic relationship was with actress Brittney Powell.
On April 21, 2018, Troyer was found dead. The cause of his death was determined to be alcohol poisoning. He was 49 at that time.
Verne Troyer's acting career began in 1994 when he served as a stunt double for "Baby Bink", an infant character, in John Hughes' flick ‘Baby's Day Out’. The following year, he was cast in the live action TV series 'Masked Rider'. During the late 1990s, He got further work as a double in several films including ‘Jingle All the Way’, ‘Dunston Checks In’, ‘Pinocchio's Revenge’, ‘Men in Black’, ‘Mighty Joe’ and ‘My Giant’.
Then in 1999, Troyer was approached by Jay Roach who eventually cast him as “Mini-Me” in his movie ‘Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me’. The same year, he began appearing in the sitcom ‘Shasta McNasty’. After this, the actor was cast as goblin Griphook in ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone’. In 2002, he reprised his role as “Mini-Me” in ‘Austin Powers in Goldmember’. The following year, he got featured in two episodes of ‘Boston Public’.
Troyer next appeared as a contestant in the reality TV series ‘The Surreal Life’ in 2005. Two years later, he appeared in the reality show ‘Welcome to Sweden’. Then in 2008, he collaborated with Mike Myers for the movie ‘The Love Guru’. That year, the American artiste also began appearing in ‘Celebrity Juice’. He played Percy in the fantasy flick ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’ in 2009. The same year, he participated in ‘British Celebrity Big Brother’ and ‘The Paul O'Grady Show’. Troyer played Archimedes in ‘Keith Lemon: The Film’ in 2012. In 2013, he got featured in the TV shows ‘Lemon La Vida Loca’ and ‘Legit’. After this, he appeared in the programs ‘Through the Keyhole’, ‘Celebrity Wife Swap’ and ‘Trailer Park Boys: Out of the Park: USA’.
