Tyler Toney and his friends Garrett, Coby, Cody, and Cory were once betting on something via basketball shots. They recorded their gameplay and eventually published it on their YouTube channel on April 8, 2009. Within a week of the video’s release, it managed to earn about 200k views. Soon after, they posted a trick shot video from a summer camp “Sky Ranch” which too garnered a good number of views.

Toney and his friends were eventually contacted by ESPN's E:60 for a segment which went on to be broadcast on various television shows including ‘Pardon the Interruption,’ ‘SportsNation,’ ‘First Take’ and ‘Around the Horn.’ Soon after, Toney and his group Dude Perfect started to receive professional endorsements and went on to work with many renowned personalities such as NBA star Chris Paul, volleyball star Morgan Beck, actor Paul Rudd, Australian bowler Jason Belmonte, NASCAR driver Travis Pastrana, Drew Brees and country singer Luke Bryan. The group also traveled to the UK to shoot a video segment with the players of Chelsea F.C., Manchester City F.C. and Arsenal F.C.

In 2011, Toney and his group launched a self-titled mobile game for the operating platforms Android and iOS. Soon they came up with another game ‘Dude Perfect 2.’ This was followed by many other games including ‘That's Lit’ and ‘Endless Ducker’. In 2015, they were approved for a TV series called ‘The Dude Perfect Show’ that first premiered on the channel CMT and later moved to Nickelodeon for season 2.

Taking about the world records made by the team Dude Perfect, they set the record for the longest basketball shot from the third deck of the football stadium Kyle Field in 2009. The following year, Dude Perfect extended their record with a 216-foot high shot. In 2018, the group broke the records for the longest lego walk (barefoot) as well as the longest pea blow (one breath).
