Tuff Hedeman

Tuff Hedeman was born as Richard Neale Hedeman on March 2, 1963 in El Paso, Texas, USA. After attending high school, he studied at Sul Ross State University. Coming to his love life, the American former bull rider champion married Tracy Hedeman in 1986. The couple has two sons. The family lives in Morgan Mill, Texas. Their eldest son, Lane, is named after Lane Frost.

Currently, Hedeman spends his leisure time at team roping and bull riding events. He occasionally provides commentary on CBR bull riding events broadcasts on television.

He is not active on any popular social networking website like Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

Tuff Hedeman won several junior rodeo competitions in his youth. He won the New Mexico High School Rodeo Association Championship in the year 1980. After this, he received multiple top honours in collegiate team roping, steer wrestling, bull riding and bronc riding. Then in 1983, after winning the National Collegiate Finals Championship, Hedeman turned pro. He won three World Championships in the PRCA: his first in 1986, second in 1989, and third in 1991.

After this, the American bull rider won the PBR World Championship in 1995, despite a dangerous encounter with the celebrated bull Bodacious. In this battle, Hedeman sustained numerous serious face injuries. In 1996, he came second and lost the PBR world title, losing it to Owen Washburn. He then ranked third during the 1997 PBR season. During what was to be his last ride at PBR Bud Light Cup Series event in 1998, he became injured very badly. After giving his health a serious consideration, Hedeman officially retired in 1999.

After having been the President of the PBR, the world renowned former bull rider is currently serving as the ambassador for CBR. Hedeman left the PBR in the year 2004 and Ty Murray has since replaced him as the association’s president.
